POS System Developer for Retail, Restaurants and Wholesale
Last updated:
What is a custom POS system, and who needs one?
A POS (point of sale) system records sales, prints receipts and keeps stock up to date. A custom POS is built around your workflow, whether that is a retail shop, restaurant, pharmacy or wholesale business, and it can connect to your website, accounting and reporting in a way generic POS software often cannot.
Who is it for?
- Retail shops and chains that need stock synced across branches
- Restaurants and cafes with table, kitchen and takeaway flows
- Wholesalers with customer-specific pricing and credit accounts
- Businesses that want their POS and online store to share one inventory

Why build a custom POS instead of buying one?
Off-the-shelf POS software is quick to start but often charges per terminal or per branch and forces your team to work around its limits. A custom POS fits your pricing rules, reports and workflows, and you own the software and data.
It is also easier to connect to your own website, courier flow or accounting process because the code is yours.

POS System Development: frequently asked questions
Does the POS work offline?
A web-based POS needs a connection for live sync, but it can be designed to queue sales locally during short outages and sync when the connection returns. This is agreed during scoping.
Can the POS share stock with my online store?
Yes. The POS and the e-commerce store can use one inventory, so a sale in the shop reduces online stock immediately and vice versa.
Can I manage multiple branches?
Yes. Multi-branch support includes separate stock per branch, stock transfers, branch-level users and combined reports for the owner.
Which hardware is supported?
Standard USB barcode scanners, thermal receipt printers and cash drawers are supported. Specific models are checked during scoping.
